Business Visa Application Requirements for a Thailand Visa

  1. Passport

    You must provide your actual signed passport. Your passport must:

    • Be valid for the next six months
    • Have at least one blank visa page (amendments and endorsement pages cannot be used to fulfill this requirement)
    • Not be frayed, torn, separating, or altered in any other way

  2. Photograph(s)

    You must provide photographs. Upload your photo and we will print it to the exact specifications required for this visa. Follow https://visacentral.com/photo-service to upload your photo.

     

    Alternatively, you may provide two color, passport-type photographs that meets the following strict criteria: be taken within the last three months against an all-white background and printed on high-quality photo paper; be identical; be two inches by two inches; provide the full frontal view of your head with your face centered in the middle and displaying a neutral (non-smiling) expression. You may not wear eyeglasses or headwear except for religious purposes. Your photo should not be affixed to your application and the photograph may not display evidence of adhesive tape or staples.

  3. Business Cover Letter

    You are required to provide a Business Cover Letter from your U.S.-based company. Be certain your letter meets the specific requirements of the consulate by using our Digital Business Cover Letter. Visit https://visacentral.com/bcl-order to get started.

  4. Visa Application Form

    You must provide one fully completed copy of the visa application form found in this kit. The application form must:

    • Include answers for all fields
    • Display your full name as it appears in your passport
    • Be signed

  5. Proof of Health Insurance

    Applicants must provide proof of health insurance showing a minimum medical coverage of USD 100,000 and stating the coverage of COVID-19. This must also be presented on arrival.

  6. Health Declaration

    Travelers must provide a Health Certificate on arrival issued 72 hours prior to the travel date and stating that they are not infected with COVID-19.

  7. Letter of Invitation

    You must obtain a letter of invitation. The organization you will be visiting is responsible for providing the invitation. A copy is acceptable. This letter must:

    • Be written on company letterhead
    • Include the full local address and phone number of the organization or person to be visited
    • Request the same validity of visa as in the Business Introduction Letter
    • Specify the number of entries you are requesting for your visa
    Note: for multiple-entry visas, the letter must include entry and exit dates of at least two visits to Thailand. The duration of each stay must be 15 days or less.

  8. Proof of Travel Arrangements

    You must provide proof of travel arrangements for the duration of your trip. Details of your intended arrangements must:

    • Include a copy of an itinerary or e-ticket that displays your round trip travel and entry and exit dates for your destination
    • Show the traveler's full name (as printed in his or her passport)

  9. Proof of Sufficient Funds

    You must provide proof that you possess sufficient funds. Your financial details must:

    • Include a copy of your most recent bank statement, showing a minimum balance of $700.00
    • Display your full name
    • A credit card statement cannot be accepted as proof of sufficient funds

  10. Stays over 15 Days

    If you are staying over 15 days, you must provide a letter of approval from the Ministry of Labor. To obtain this letter, the company in Thailand is required to submit Form WP3 at the Office of Foreign Workers Administration, Department of Employment, Ministry of Labor (Tel. +66 2 245 2745), or at the Provincial Employment Office in his or her respective province.   14. Previously Visited a Yellow Fever Risk Area

    Applicants who have visited a Yellow Fever risk area (parts of Central and South America and Africa) within the last three months must provide a copy of a valid yellow fever certificate.

    Applicants will also be required to present the Yellow Fever certificate upon arrival.

Tourist Application Requirements for a Thailand Visa

  1. Visa May Not Be Required

    Visa exempt for a stay of up to 30 days. Please keep in mind that if you are staying less than 30 days, you must:

    • Hold a passport valid for at least six months with at least one blank visa page
    • Hold proof of onward and return flights
    • Hold all documents required for the next destination
    • Hold proof of sufficient funds relative to your intended length of stay
    • Hold documents showing proof of travel purpose (e.g.,support letter, conference registrations, tour itinerary, etc.)
    • Confirm with your airline prior to your travel date that boarding will be permitted without a visa

    If you will be staying longer than 30 days, then please refer to the requirements below.

  2. Copy of Passport

    Provide a clear color copy of your passport identification page which must be valid at least six months beyond the expiry date of the visa.

  3. Photographs

    One digital passport sized colour photograph. The photograph must: 

    • Have a white background
    • Be taken with no glasses being worn
    • Be taken within the last six months
    • Be uploaded into a jpg file

  4. Proof of State Residency

    You must provide a proof of your current address of residency. The document must either be a copy of the front and back of your driver's license or government ID, or a utility bill. The document must:

    • Display your name as it appears on your passport
    • Display the current residence address as provided on your visa application

    Please note, if you must submit a utility bill the consulate requires electric, gas, or a water bill; phone and cable bills are not accepted.

  5. Proof of Identity

    This must be provided as a photograph of the applicant holding the information page of the passport and their passport photo.

    • Include a copy of your most recent bank statement that clearly displays your full name. Print screens of bank accounts that don't show traveler's name will be rejected.
    • Bank statements must be from the most recent month (six months for multiple-entry visa)
    • For single entry visas, you need to show a minimum balance of $700.00
    • For multi-entry visas, you need to show a minimum balance of $7000.00
    • Families applying together need to show a minimum balance of $1,500.00 per family

  8. Hotel Confirmation

    You must provide a confirmation of your hotel accommodations. Your confirmation must:

    •  Include your intended dates of stay
