The South Korean Government has announced that the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) will be an optional travel document starting April 1st, 2023, until December 31st, 2024 for travelers who hold the nationality of Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, the United Kingdom or the United States only. This means that travelers are not required to obtain an ETA to enter South Korea during this period.

However VisaCentral recommends that travelers still obtain an ETA before traveling to South Korea. While the ETA may be optional, it can still streamline the entry process and prevent potential delays or issues at the border.

When this information is requested, the questions cannot be skipped as part of the application process.
