Brazil Announces Visa Exemptions for USA, Australia, Canada, and Japan Nationals
Last week the government of Brazil announced that beginning June 17, 2019 nationals of the United States, Australia, Canada, and Japan will no longer require a visa to enter Brazil for tourism, business, artistic, and sporting activities, as well as activities deemed in the national interest for up to 90 days.

Since the announcement CIBT has been in direct contact with the local consulates and the Brazilian government to understand the implications of this policy change. As your trusted advisor, CIBT has verified that all travel to Brazil for nationals of USA, Australia, Canada, and Japan before June 17, 2019 will still require a visa. CIBT continues to offer our entire selection of visa services to Brazil, including temporary work visas which will still be required for the nationalities listed above.

A note of caution for business travelers: visa exempt travel only applies to those attending simple business meetings, conferences, visiting clients, potential buyers, or customers. It is unlawful to provide professional training, technical assistance, engage in the transfer of technology, installation, maintenance and/or repairs of equipment or any professional activities resulting in remuneration without a temporary work visa. Transgressors are subject to heavy financial penalty, detainment, and deportation.

If you have any questions about this visa exemption or whether your business activities may require a temporary work visa we are here to help. Visit our website or contact your Account Manager for more information.

China’s Strict Photo Requirements - Your Photo Could Influence Your Visa Approval
China is one of the top visa destinations in the world with some of the most strictly enforced photo requirements. Photos are required as part of the visa application and must meet very specific rules including size (exactly 48mm tall and 33mm wide), date taken, and facial position among others. If these rules are not met, your visa application could be denied. You can avoid that risk with CIBT’s Digital Photo Service. Use your own camera and take a photo in the comfort of your home or office, then simply upload it to our website. We will take care of the rest and ensure your photo meets government and consular requirements. See how it works.
